VELUX wins Danish Design’s Icon Award 2019

The Danish Design Award’s international jury described VELUX as the ‘’iPhone of windows’’, when it awarded VELUX for redefining architecture globally and for making living under the roof healthy and comfortable.

It is a great honour to receive this award. It motivates us to continue developing our products and solutions that focus on high quality and beautiful architecture and design. The award is recognition of the contribution of the many employees, and the owners of VELUX,
says David Briggs, CEO of the VELUX Group.

About the award to VELUX

The jury made the following remarks about the award to VELUX:

“Since 1941, the VELUX window has transformed architecture by enabling healthy and comfortable living under the roof. Every day, it brings daylight and fresh air to work, life and play, worldwide.

The essence of the Danish Design Award is to celebrate the difference design makes, in other words services and products that make a true impact. The VELUX window has redefined architecture since it entered the market in 1941. It has stood the test of time by adapting to new technology, while still keeping the design simple and accessible for everyone. VELUX windows change and improve our indoor spaces by increasing light and air. It is ubiquitous and well-known across the world. It is the iPhone of windows.”

The prestigious award was presented to VELUX at a ceremony in Copenhagen on May 13. For more information visit Danish Design Award's webpage.
