VELUX Group donates roof windows to sports clubs

Summary

Daylight streaming in from brand new roof windows in the local clubhouse. A dream that could come true for sports clubs across Europe when the VELUX Group donates roof windows to club houses to mark its 75th anniversary.

The VELUX Group brings daylight and fresh air into people’s lives. Now everybody that uses and enjoys one of many sports clubs across Europe has the opportunity to make their club house brighter, more comfortable and healthier – completely free of charge. Every sport requires energy. Daylight and fresh air, along with a healthy diet, help provide that energy to everyone who spends most of their lives indoors.

The gathering point of any sports club is its clubhouse. This is where children and young people meet before and after they have exercised their passion for sport. A well-functioning clubhouse is essential for sport-loving children, parents and voluntary workers to derive maximum pleasure from their hobby. And the VELUX Group is keen to support the role of sports clubs in society,
says Michael K. Rasmussen, Senior Vice President, Brand and Communication

One sports club in each of the 30 countries in Europe where the VELUX Group has a presence will benefit from the donation of the complete installation of up to six roof windows. But any sports club making an application for roof windows must be a non-profit organisation.

If you know of, or are a member of, a sports club that really needs more daylight, we would like to hear from you,
says Michael K. Rasmussen, Senior Vice President, Brand and Communication

If your local sports club would like to apply for roof windows, ask a club representative to contact a local installer and upload photos and drawings of the clubhouse to him by 15 August 2016 at the latest. In September, the VELUX Group will select the sports clubs who will receive the donation.

Why the donation?

Throughout 2016, the VELUX Group will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of the original idea that became the roof window. In all that time, VELUX products have brought a new quality of life to people’s homes, workplaces and schools. As part of the celebrations, the VELUX Group will be launching a number of activities around the world – all centred around the beneficial effects of daylight and fresh air on our lives and learning capacity.
