VELUX curved glass rooflight wins prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD

VELUX has been awarded the 2018 iF DESIGN AWARD in the Building Technology category for its Curved Glass Rooflight. This ground-breaking product convinced the 63-strong jury of independent, international experts for its visually attractive, functional, and technologically advanced design.

The industry-leading curved glass rooflight can be installed on completely flat (0o pitch) roofs, without the need for a plastic dome above. The curve of the glass allows water to run off, ensuring high performance while providing an attractive solution, perfect for installation in visible areas of residential and office buildings. Its rimless, curved outer pane and dark aluminium frame is ideal for discerning architects, housebuilders and homeowners.

With this curved glass design, we set out to reinvent the flat roof window, offering an exceptional combination of design and functionality. We are very happy to receive the iF DESIGN AWARD, which recognises that we have achieved our goal.
says VP Kent Holm, heading the Global Product Management at the VELUX Group

The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the world’s most prestigious design prizes, and this year’s edition saw over 6,400 entries from 54 countries.
