VELUX ACTIVE with NETATMO wins Special Jury Mention at Batimat Innovation Awards

VELUX ACTIVE with NETATMO has received a Special Jury Mention at the Batimat Innovation Awards in France. The special mention is for Combination of Expertise, and recognizes the partnership of two innovative companies who are leaders in their respective segments - “daylight and fresh air”, and “smart home industry”. The partnership between VELUX and NETATMO is an example of how innovative companies with different fields of expertise can come together to create products that will define the future.

VELUX ACTIVE is a smart home solution that ensures an optimum indoor climate in your home at all times. It comprises a WiFi gateway, indoor climate sensors and a departure switch for VELUX Integra roof windows and sunscreening products, along with a control app for iOS and Android.

Based on a range of indoor climate parameters, such as temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels, users will be able to automate roof window and sunscreen operation. This means that you will no longer have to think about when to open your windows to air out the house, let moisture out after a shower, or close shutters to keep out the summer heat, with the system actively controlling windows and blinds.

We’re delighted to receive this Special Jury Mention, which is further recognition of the innovative nature of VELUX ACTIVE,” says Michael K. Rasmussen, SVP Brand at the VELUX Group. “Consumers are becoming more and more aware of the importance of good indoor climate in ensuring good health for themselves and their families. Coupled with the convenience and potential energy savings offered by smart home integration, VELUX ACTIVE responds to these changing trends and offers a simple way to ensure a healthier, more comfortable home.”
says Michael K. Rasmussen, SVP Brand at the VELUX Group

VELUX ACTIVE with NETATMO is due to launch globally in Q1 2018. The VELUX ACTIVE package is easy to install and set up. It is compatible with new and existing VELUX INTEGRA® motorised windows and shades, as well as manual windows retrofitted with a motor.

Batimat is one of the world’s leading building industry exhibitions, and brings together leading international buildings materials companies and professionals (developers, specifiers, contractors and distributors). The Batimat Innovation Awards are an excellent indicator of sector trends, highlighting innovative solutions in the buildings industry.

Smart homes and home automation are predicted to be one of the next big consumer trends, with smart home revenue set to quadruple to almost 65 billion USD by 2020 [Statista, 2016] as more and more products in the home are online and inter-connected.
