The VELUX Group considering outsourcing Finance functions from Kolding

Summary

More efficient operation to ensure continued growth is the underlying reason for the VELUX Group considering the establishment of a more global organisation. This may have an impact on the Group's Finance Centre in Kolding.

With sales companies in 40 countries, the VELUX Group is aiming to optimise its business model to achieve greater efficiency, both in terms of costs and cross-border processes.

The objective of the new business model is to transfer a series of processes from local to global ownership, and thereby avoid the same job being done at several places in the Group. This is the reasoning behind the thinking to establish a Global Finance Organisation, including the outsourcing of a number of functions from the Group's Finance Centre in Kolding to India. And this could have consequences for the 30-35 employees in Kolding.

"We have an obligation to secure the future for our 10,000 employees – and we can only do that by constantly becoming more efficient and more competitive. In the event that there are consequences for some of our people, we will naturally do everything in our power to help them forward into new and good jobs," says VELUX Group Director, CFO Peter Bang.

A more global model will strengthen the Group's competitive power and ability to meet increased customer demands. The Group is currently investing in new products, business areas, systems, tools and processes in a move to reinforce its position in an increasingly competitive market.

The purpose of the new business model is to reorganise a number of ancillary functions on a global basis to achieve maximum advantage of economies of scale, attain a more transparent organisation and thereby gain the opportunity for continual global optimisation.

"The VELUX Group has a global presence and we must exploit even more the potential inherent in running a global operation. That will release resources that we can use to become even better at meeting customer demands and that will give us greater freedom to invest in the development of our competitive ability," says Peter Bang.
