EuroWindoor is established

A new European association, EuroWindoor AISBL, representing the interests of the European window, door and facade industry has been founded.

On 10th August 2015 EuroWindoor AISBL received official accreditation by Royal Decree in Belgium and is now a fully formalised and legally operating association.

EuroWindoor’s mission is to address EU institutions on key issues related to windows, doors and facades. The ten national associations representing manufacturers and one European Company making up the founders of the new association represent European window, door and facade manufacturers. The companies behind the associations have sales activities all over Europe, and are prominent in the market, interacting with dealers, installers and consumers buying windows and doors.

Establishing a single independent building materials association, thereby bundling interests, with an efficient structure means that we can effectively represent the window, door and facade industry in Europe,
explains Joachim Oberrauch, President of EuroWindoor AISBL.

The VELUX Group represents The Association of Danish Woodworking and Furniture Industries. Helle Carlsen, Public Affairs Manager of the VELUX Group, has been appointed Vice President of EuroWindoor, and is therefore part of the Executive Board.

I am delighted to be elected Vice-President and am looking forward to supporting the task in hand, on behalf of the window, door and facade industry, by establishing a voice that will be heard in the EU,
says Helle Carlsen Nielsen.

EU energy labelling position – questioning the added value for consumers and business
EuroWindoor has – as one of its first tasks – agreed on a position on “EU energy labelling of windows”. The industry is questioning the added value for consumers and business of such label, and highlights that it will very likely create double regulation and not be in line with better regulation.
