The VELUX Group Creates a CO2-neutral Family Home with Superior Indoor Climate

'Home for Life' is the first of six houses to be built in Europe as part of the Model Home 2020 concept, which aims to inspire future building. The objective is to create climate-neutral buildings with optimised indoor climate, fresh air and daylight. The total energy consumption is minimised and covered by renewable and CO2-neutral energy generated by the building itself. After around 30 years, the surplus energy is equivalent to the amount of energy represented by the materials the house is built from. Over the next year, a family of four will live in the house, which enables real-life energy monitoring. Available video includes an animation of the 'Home for Life' model.
