Call for Building Sustainable Homes of Tomorrow

At the recent Batibouw fair in Belgium EU commissioner on Climate Action, Connie Hedegaard, appeals to the building industry for it to build, show and disseminate the good solutions on how we can live up to the energy requirements of tomorrow with the building materials of today. The VELUX Group has chosen to face the challenges through the construction of a number of model homes that show that it is possible to build low energy houses that provide a good indoor climate with lots of daylight and fresh air. It's a fact that we spend 90% of our time in buildings that consumes 40% of the energy in the western world, however up to 30% of the building mass does not provide a healthy indoor climate. Material includes an edited version and sound bites of Connie Hedegaard and Lone Feifer, Project Director, the VELUX group.
